2 sold for $99 each on Marketplace.tf: https://marketplace.tf/items/267;5
1 key was $1.94 at the time.
That equates to ~51.03 keys (rounded to 51 keys).
These are the same sales used in the last price suggestion, but it was rounded incorrectly (~51.03 is not rounded to 50).
It's not a big deal if he rounds it to 50 or 51.
Aside from rounding to the nearest whole key, Unusual items priced at less than 100 keys aren’t rounded.
I’m not even sure if this item counts as an Unusual. If it doesn’t, it should not even be rounded to the nearest whole key.
It’s not a huge deal, but I thought I’d resuggest anyway.
In the previous suggestion: "2 Sold for ~ 51 keys each in cash; rounding for neatness 50 keys flat." And it was accepted so I don't see a problem.
The suggestion was completely fine aside from the rounding.
The rounding was not incorrect, it was just rounded to the nearest 5 for neatness rather than the nearest 1. It's 1 key in a 50 / 51 key item, the 1 key difference is more or less negligible. Both 50 and 51 can be viewed as correct.
It may be negligible, but it is still incorrect. 51 is more accurate than 50.
The price of nonUnusual items and Unusual items priced at less than 100 keys are not rounded to the nearest 5.
those 2 sales used for the price suggestion before 1 month https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5a591be844325a77f13fb3ba
also key prices changes all the time on mp.tf its unnecessary to price it at 51 . 50 is fine in that case . expect if there are new sales but i dont see any
I know. I said that in my suggestion. I’m just resuggesting to round it correctly.
But what's the point? When the previous suggestion is just fine and doesn't need an update.
It was rounded incorrectly. 51.03 is rounded to 51, not 50.
But why does it matter to you so much?
I didn’t say it matters much. It matters a little.
How would you get a tradable one??
There used to be a bug exploit that allowed you to make an untradable item tradable using a Gift Wrap.
ah. gotcha.
The previous suggestion was accepted because it was fine. Key prices fluctuate all the time on marketplace, so rounding down to 50 made sense. It's different if the sale is in pure keys, in which case rounding is not necessary.
This is an unnecessary change.
If rounding to the nearest 10 is necessary, the nonUnusual price suggestion rules forum post should probably be edited so that it mentions that: https://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/36705rulesfornonunusualsuggestions
Should I close this, then?
You linked the guide for nonunusual items. Given the rarity, this should be treated like an unusual hat/taunt/weapon:
"Giving the suggested range the appropriate level of precision: all unusual suggestions are approximations. As such, the suggested range should be rounded off appropriately http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Significant_figures. Please use common sense to guide you.
For all unusuals, please round to the nearest whole key (this one is a RULE, all following suggestions are just a guideline).
For hats 100200 keys, please round to the nearest 5 keys
For hats 2001000 keys, please round to the nearest 10 keys
For hats 1000+ keys, please round to the nearest 50 keys."

So yes, you should close this.
“For all unusuals, please round to the nearest whole key.”
51.03 → 50 isn’t rounding to the nearest whole key. That would be 51.
This item is not priced at 100 keys or higher, so according to the forum post, it should not be rounded to the nearest 5, 10, or 50.
"For all unusuals, please round to the nearest whole key (this one is a RULE, all following suggestions are just a guideline)."
"... all unusual suggestions are approximations"
"Please use common sense to guide you."
Again, the sale wasn't for keys pure, was for cash and key prices fluctuate every day. Rounding down to 50 made sense. Hopefully that's clear enough.
The rules do not mention rounding a price to the nearest 5 or 10 keys if the proof is cash sales. Are you saying that it does not matter what the price is, as long as it is close to the price at which the item was sold? Could 53 keys be rounded to 50 or 55 keys?
Even if rounding 51.03 keys to 50 keys was not incorrect, wouldn’t rounding it to 51 keys be better anyway? This is not as much of a counter suggestion as it is an improvement to an already good suggestion that has already been accepted.
No, I'm saying that common sense is needed here. There's no need to "fix" the previous suggestion due to a 1 key difference on a 50key item, especially when it's not a mistake. It was done on purpose to obtain a betterlooking round number.
Could 53 keys be rounded to 50 or 55 keys?. In general you shouldn't round that kind of sale. Does that mean that a suggestion with the rounded flat value will get closed? Not necessarily, depends on what was the sale for (pure, cash, items) and other sales/sellers.
As I said above, all unusual suggestions are approximations. It would have been accepted at 51 in the first place if it was suggested that way, but it wasn't. No point on changing this a month later.
Understood.
Personally, I believe that a more accurate price is more important than a prettier flat price, but I will close my suggestion. Thank you for letting me ask you questions rather than immediately closing my suggestion.
