I have a couple of questions here. I'm slightly new to the price suggestion game so forgive me if I make some sort of a gaffe, or in this case if I happen to make a long series of compounding gaffes.

For the Woodland it's a steam community market listing price that you're basing the value off of, which I suppose is considered valid in unusual pricing but I digress. First off, the link you left for that doesn't seem to work anymore. Am I just doing it wrong by clicking it and expecting it to take me somewhere useful? Because of that I have to take your word for it when you say that it was sold for £56.30 since I wouldn't be sure how to verify it at the moment, but that could just be my ineptitude talking.

Ignoring that and taking you at your word there, I don't really understand how you got 26-30 keys off of that listing. After doing the math and looking at key and ref prices at the time the values I come to would show that--depending on whether or not you're using the high or low value for ref at the time and forgive me if I shouldn't be looking at that as well--the buyer would be paying the equivalent of ~37.24 high and ~34.13 low. Meanwhile the seller would be receiving the equivalent of ~32.39 high and ~29.69 low. Now, I'm not sure if you should be using averages or the absolute values here, but wouldn't that put the range for the Woodland either at ~30-37 keys or ~31-36 keys?

Am I doing anything wrong there, or does that value you put on not make sense? The only thing I can think of is maybe that the price of ref doesn’t convert properly from pounds to dollars; if that’s the case then you can just ignore everything I just said because in that case I clearly have no understanding of how the TF2 economy functions. Am I supposed to account for the value of the pound dropping since then too?

But if I am right, wouldn’t it stand to reason that the price you suggested should be completely different? Not only that shouldn’t it be listed as a range for the hat instead of one solid value?

Again, provided I’m not fucking up super hard with my math or anything, then considering the values I got for the Woodlands current price for the unusual should be listed at either 62-69 keys or 63-68 keys depending on whether or not you’re using absolute or average values for ref respectively.

      - You are correct in that he should've taken an image for the Rocket Launcher.

      - 1 Pound = 1.33 Dollars, so 1 Key is ~1.84 Pounds (if you take Keys at $2.45), which does convert to 26 - 30 Keys

Ok, then I don't understand why we're taking keys at $2.45. At the time this trade went down keys were valued at 18.33 ref and at that time ref was valued between $0.11 and $0.12 per ref, therefore wouldn't the value of a key at the time as according to backpack.tf be somewhere between $2.02 and $2.20 at that time?

Am I reading too much into this? Are we really just supposed to take keys at a flat rate that?

Also, the pound thing is sort of obnoxious to deal with as well, since the exchange rate has changed every single time I've calculated this.

Because Keys on SCM don't equal Keys on backpack.tf with the Ref conversion.

So you just take the flat value then? That seems weird since the value of keys on there is always fluctuating.

That's why it's best to use the key value at the time of the sale.

Ok, so how do you find the key value at the time of sale for SCM stuff?
