Would provide more proof but it's hard to find any without paint or a speciel level.

this guy is also buying every retired hat for 2 keys.

I wonder why the community thinks that these are becoming even rarer as the hats are retired. There's bucketloads of all the hats, there's going to be people stocking up from the store because of the announcement (regardless of whether or not it's a bad idea) you can still unbox the regular versions... plus the vintage ones haven't been on the drop list for several years now.

That is why only the vintage versions should rise. You could never obtain the vintages for a long time and as soon as you couldn't obtain the uncrafts, they shot up.

The vintage versions shouldn't even be affected by this. As he said, they haven't been on the drop list since 2010.

Now something that affects the uniques and unusuals in particular also affects the vintage versions in the eyes of some people, what I don't really seem to get here.

Also, you can still find tons of uncraftables and clean versions of the hats and you've still got roughly 2 weeks before they retire. You can purchase loads of them and be a craft whore, honestly.

Back to the vintages... the amount is still the same for years already, so I don't know why they should rise. Dirty and clean versions... Well, there are 50k-100k copies of each hat, so the supply isn't even a biggy. For the unusuals it's inevitable, we all know they're going to be rare afterwards because of the tiny amount of them.

But fuck me, I still don't get this huge uproar. It's like the uncraftable hat thing just 1000x worse.

The thing is, as I said, http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7822862 that guy is paying 2keys each. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7825758 That guy got offered 3 keys for unpainted vintage normal levelled batter's. Vintages haven't been obtainable for since 2010. The economy is becoming worse than before because of the retiring of hats. The economy will be even worse if the unique quality ones which are still obtainable for 2 weeks become more that the vintage ones.

The items aren't going to retire until two weeks, plus, vintages retired

a LONG time ago, or just stopped being obtainable. I don't see a reason for vintage hats to rise.

Vintages are going to rise even though they've been "retired" for years because they have to in order for the price structure to make any kind of sense. Before the retirement announcement, the gen-1 hats were usually 1.33 clean or 0.33-0.66 uncraftable. Now?

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7828370 - Trader is paying 1 ref for uncraftable

          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7843299 - Mass buyer/reseller paying 1.66 each

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7839217 - Paying 1 key each for four of the hats

What the evidence on Outpost is showing is that prices on the unique/uncraft versions of the Gen-1 hats, particularly the Batter's, are rising toward the 1 key range for clean ones. If the Vintage version of the hat retains its 1-key price, the entire pricing structure no longer makes sense (as there are far fewer Vintages than uniques). The price on the Vintages has to rise to keep everything proportional.

            Maybe 1.5 -2 keys, but 2 - 2.5 is too extreme.

As I said, look at the proof. Someone offered 3 keys. Someone offered 2 keys and a festive grenade launcher. Look in the comments, too. Someone is buying all the vintage retiring hats for 2 keys. This Price seems to be fitting.

i got an ebenezer for my black batter's

Why would vintages rise? They stop dropping over a 2-3 years ago and the quantity hasn't changed. This is just all hype.

There is a low supply on the vintage ones and high demand. People are wanting to buy these hats, and are relatively easy to sell. Check my proof over again.

Heh funny to see you again Directing, remember me?

The guy who traded for your Level 69 Vintage Batters :D?

Yes, I remember you :) You got yourself a pretty good investment. Good luck if you de decide to resell.

Honestly, I think it's silly as well, but if the market reflects the demand for this hat then we would have to change the price.

Heck, it's not like it's not going to drop down in like a month or 2. And plus there will be people rushing to the store to buy the 9 hats, so I expect the supply to shoot up a lot more.

This is what I am trying to say. Low supply, high demand. People are willing to pay more than double and, sometimes, tripple what backpack.tf says. The demand is becoming greater by the minute and the price needs to be changed. The price is also outdated by 5 months.

Even if the price is going up. Two trades don't make up the whole economy. I'm going to have to downvote on this one.

To help you out I made a suggestion. Seems to be a lot of people buying for 3 keys. Still a downvote on this though. Plenty of proof out there, but you only have 2 links :/

The only thing retirement should affect is the overload of unusual quality ones.

I agree. But because of the current state the economy is in, with the unique and uncraft versions skyrocketing, we need to increase the price of vintages. The price is also 5 months old and there are plenty of people buying for more than 2 keys.

I'll be waiting for the bubble to pop in a few weeks.

Vintages always were more expensive versions of unique hats so it only makes sense that if the unique ones go up the vintage ones go up as well.

                          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7822574 2 keys

                          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7808399 6 keys

                          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/7758969 2 keys

                          http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/6743423 3 keys 1 ref

I had these in my suggestion but the admin closed it for a high range even though the range is high, but for everyone complaining, shut up. Barely anything makes sense with the tf2 market, and its this sites purpose to reflect current prices, and these are the prices. IT DOESNT MATTER IF IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE.Upvote from me.

I totally agree. High demand, low supply. The price needs to rise higher than the unique. The vintages stopped becoming avaliable since 2010 and it doesn't make sense that, whilst still being obtainable, the unique versions are more than the vintage ones.

what the fuck is going on? number of these vintage hat still same. crazy people :)
