My first suggestion, and although I know that you're not supposed to use some of these things as proof, I can hardly find any solds at all, and I noticed that some of the other initial Collector's prices used things like this.

Information for those who noticed that I own one: I simply wanted to suggest a price so that a price for it in my backpack would show up, because the dip on my 'backpack value' graph when I bought it annoyed me a little. I have absolutely no intention of selling mine and simply want a price.

I'm limiting the proof to a month old and less, due to the fact that trades past that seem to have prices that drop rapidly with youth until about 1 month old, at which point they stabilise at around this price.

Solds for 4 keys

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19514711 (My trade, offered me 5 keys but sold it to me for 4 anyway)

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19865357 (4 keys 3 ref)

Steam Market solds in the last month, Subtotal (-Valve's 15%) | Total

http://puu.sh/8UXXT.png

$10.57 | $12.44

$5.87 | $6.90 (Outlier)

$10.81 | $12.72

$11.90 | $14.00

$11.97 | $14.08

$12.71 | $14.95

Most of these are roughly in the range when converted to keys at $2.45 a key.

Probably the least valid proof, I know, but I felt that I should include it anyway due to the lack of other proof I could find. Flame away!

Sold for 6 keys

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19739894

Although recent this one seems to be an outlier, the trades below have been around for ages and haven't been bought at the same price, but I thought I'd include it anyway.

It's likely that he sold it for less than 6 keys, as the reseller is selling it for 4 keys 3 ref, as listed under 4 key sales.

I would imagine that I'd have messed something up, so please let me know so that I can do better next time.

If you can find proof to disprove this range, please do so, and I would absolutely love it if you could please re-suggest a range with the new and improved price.

Thanks!

Unsure if the 6 sale is correct, since the reseller was selling it for 4.4~ - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19865357

Also 5key sale is over a month old.

    http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19333962 - c lollichop (w/ killstreak) 4+ offer

Neutral, also when you purchased it - he reduced it from 5 to 4, looks like he QS it tbh.

For the 6 sale, I just assumed that he didn't want it any more and quicksold it, however you do raise a fair point, I'll update the OP with that.

I also just figured "1 month" by what it says on the trade as a rough estimate, it lists it as a month on the trade for me.

Yeah and a quicksale shouldn't determine the price :P

Along with the other <5 sale, looks like a QS too.

Maybe a higher range would be more appropriate, 5 keys flat or 5-5.5 keys or so, do you think?

EDIT: Would it be discouraged for me to find some more evidence for a better range and suggest that instead, if this suggestion gets closed? I would like to have at least a price and I am prepared to do some extra work for one.

    1 month old

if someone is able to sell it for 6 keys - http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19739894

why is the range 4~5 keys

as d0 said it seems more like a quicksell range...

    downvote

As also noted by d0 and reflected in the OP, it's likely that the 6 key sale was actually sold for less, considering the person who bought it resold it for 4 keys 3 ref, and there are quite a few 6 key sellers that have had unsolds for much longer than that trade.

        ...thanks :)

Look at the Market price, and how expensive it is to acquire the Chem Set itself

The ones that are selling now are ~$10, but if you look at the graph of the more recently sold ones they're only about $2.50-3.50. If you add the $7.35 or so of Atomizers that are required for it (that is, a scrap for each Atomizer, converted to keys at $2.45 each), that falls within the price range of Market sold Collector's Atomizers.

It's really easy to get most weapons for 0.5 scrap if you use scrap banking sides like scrap.tf, etc. I completed a few collectors now. The fastes was the southern hospitility with 1 day (and one night) and the longest is the phlog chem set which I'm doing right now with over 1.5 weeks now.

can someone add me and teahc me how to make suggestions on backpack.tf??

You find an item, you make a suggestion, find proof. Voila.

Yeah, sure. Find a commonly traded item and then make a thinly veiled attempt to manipulate the market under the guise of a "suggestion". That's frankly all you need to know my good man.

            Quick-sales shouldent determine the price

SO maybe try finding the average of those Steam Market prices then divide by 2.50 and then round it?

If you are trying to change $$ amounts into key amounts, you probably should use 2$ - 2.1$ instead of 2.5$. Here is why:

                1) Keys are sold for a little over 8 refined right now, and 1 refined is about 0.25$. 0.25$ times 8 = 2$ (or maybe up to like 2.1$ if the key was sold for like 8.22 refined)

                2) Keys are being sold on the steam community market for 2.3$ to 2.45$. When the steam community fee is subtracted from this, each person is really only getting like 2$ to 2.1$

I hope this helps, and I hope this doesn't count as spam lol

                  Thank you for telling me!!!

You can easly buy keys for 1.60$(if u buy bulks) or 1.70$-1.80$.

That is the paypal price. Steam community market price differs from paypal.

But you just understand people prefer to sell on market "lower", even with the fee applied. That's because for steam wallet money you can simply buy the games, stuff and everything via steam, so they value more $ alternative in steam wallet instead of a key, so they are willing to sell a bit lower than the key $ value.

That's why I don't suppose steam market is a good proof.

                        Otherwise, I'm staying neutral.

Actually, the reason SCM isn't proof is because it varies wildly in price unless there's a few hundred of the item for sale on it. And at that point there are better sources.

How did you ever become an admin with that attitude and immaturity?

                    Seems legit.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18798883 seems like he sold the c. fan o'war for 5, should of used it in my seggestion for the fan :/, anyway good proof, upvote

I approve of this price because I have one. Upvote. lel.

By the small amount of trades listed on outpost there is enough evidence here. Clear sales at 4 keys and 5 . Looks good to me.

                            Upvote.

Not a whole lot of proof, but it has to start somewhere. staying neutral for a while.

Whats with all the fucking dislikes? I smell alts

                                  http://bazaar.tf/trade/787105 - sold?

I don't know. High end doesn't have the most solid foundation. But 6 keys doesn't sell well and 4 keys gets offered frequently. The range of 4-5 is probably close. In close calls, I go with the votes
